Looking for servers in three separate US locations, same provider preferred

Hello,
We're looking for three unmanaged servers, each in a different datacenter within the US - preferably two coasts and central US. Outside of the US is not an option. We will expand this to 3 at each location eventually.

Minimum specs:

24 Core Xeon (2.0 GHz or faster)
128GB DDR4
200GB SSDs in RAID1
3.84TB SSD
100TB on 10Gbps port
IPMI is a must (We must be able to power off and on at will)
Clean IPs /29 on each host
While this is unmanaged, we want 24/7 US based support for hardware replacement
Budget is ~$250 USD/Mo for each host.
Use case is for deployment of a large web app. Datacenter redundancy is essential for uninterrupted access to at least one host at all times.

Note that we were using Purevoltage, which is an exceptional company and provided excellent service to us. However, at this time (soon to change), they do not have IPMI access or the ability for us to manage powering off/on the hosts via their KVM. We are doing multiple reloads of various virtualization options to find what we want to go forward with, which we discovered cannot be handled efficiently through ticketing.

Thank you for any recommendations.

Please help compare these dedicated server hosts...

I'm a small business owner and developer since 2003. We have a few dedicated servers, each one with a different host. One of these hosts was sold and the new owner wants us to use a new server in a new location. We are considering switching to another host. This server runs some important client web sites, our own site, and web apps we're developing.

What we're looking for:
- unmanaged bare metal dedicated server, Intel Xeon 4c/8t minimum, 6 or 8 core preferred
- 16GB RAM, 32GB RAM preferred
- 1TB (or 960GB) SSD, 2 x SSD software RAID preferred
- FreeBSD 11 or 12 (our other servers are FreeBSD 11.4)
- $140/month or less (we're paying $130/month now for the current server, no SSD, 16GB)
- US data center, east coast preferred

Obviously we want a decent data center and good customer support but we also want a company who is going to be around for the next 10 years and isn't likely to be bought up by some Wall Street investment firm who doesn't care about the customers of the smaller hosting firms they're purchasing.

Hosts I'm researching:
- Vultr
- OVHcloud (the US branch)
- Linode
- Hivelocity

So far, OVH seems to have the exact hardware, price point, and data center but their billing system worries me.

If you have any experience with these hosts, good or bad, please share. If you work for one of these hosts, I'm open to offers.

thanks,

Robert

Dedicated / VPS Provider in UK & NL

We have some older SolusVM nodes in the UK & NL that we are looking to upgrade to Proxmox. Our current hosts have been fairly reliable from an uptime/network perspective but not the greatest when it comes to support. Not that we need it very often but when a node is having issues, response times and capable support techs are important. That being said we are looking provider for recommendations with the following requirements.

1) Familiar with Proxmox however we will take care of installing/managing Proxmox via IPMI/ssh/web interface.
2) Able to provide custom hardware configs and possibly private VLAN's for backups or subnet overlays for multiple nodes to share IP space.
3) Responsive support with a clue and knowledgeable pre-sales staff to help spec the servers.
4) Tier 4 DC in London and Amsterdam (or can be 2 different providers).

We're also considering just reselling VPS services so we're also open recommendations on VPS resellers in those locations.

And Go.....

TIA

Who is slightly better than Nocix?

I'm looking for a low-end dedicated host that is slightly better than Nocix (e.g. ~2x cost with better service). I've been with Nocix/Datashack for quite a while with various servers, and they very nearly offer exactly what I need: low cost, good hardware, plug in the server, keep it plugged in, keep it running, keep the network connected, generally don't screw things up hardware-wise. Unfortunately, they do have quite a few problems (random outages, bad UPS, network goes bye-bye, etc.) and also very frustratingly they generally handle these outages very badly (don't announce or acknowledge them, don't respond to tickets in good time, support staff aren't familiar with basic network tools), and also don't fix the things they screwed up or provide any way for me to fix them (no IPMI/KVM, support refuse to to tell me what's on the screen when the server won't boot after their blown UPS / 'redundant' power failure messed up the bootloader, etc.).

Question: who is slightly better than Nocix? Similar low-end focus, but with slightly better service, though not e.g. 10x more expensive? Preferably with IPMI/KVM. Ideas sought!

Reliable and affordable unmanaged server providers

A while back, OVH and Hetzner were considered really good for cheap unmanaged servers.

But, that was a while ago. I am out of touch with this industry lately.

How does the current recommendation list look like? I am not looking for the best bandwidth mix OR the best support time. I just need a reliable company that is unlikely to go out of business any time soon.

No strong preference in location.

Thanks for your time. Im looking forward to your reply.

looking for a dedicated server for (internal) demos

Hi All,

I need a server (to start with) where I can do solution demos and build acceptance platform to perform upgrades etc.
For example, say a hosting company wants to design a solution where they want to move into ceph and openstack . and want a demo of how it looks like and how it works .. those are built virtually .. so this server will host a lot of virtual machines .. like 3x controllers, 3x ceph mons, 4x ceph osd, 4x hypervisors , 1x storage, 1x router , 3x object storage etc .. . you get the idea..

I already have a few servers from a provider, but the prices are getting higher, so I am just checking out what I can get. (maybe I am paying more)

Requirements:

at least 24 threads .. the more the better .. but not more than 40 threads ( can be amd or intel ) 1x ssd disk for the OS (can be 480gb min) and 2x 1 TB nvme .. ( i do not need raid , this has no customer data) 128 gb of ram Unmanaged kvm/idrac access preferred . but not a necessity. OS to be installed is ubuntu-focal minimum with only ssh enabled via ssh-key Bandwidth -- 99% incoming -- imagine 20-30 virtual-machines doing apt-get every week or doing git clone from github every few-days as a part of their build .. .. the only ports open = ssh and https ( say 1-2 hours per month, when a public demo is required) ... IPs - one for the main server, 3-4 additional Location: Europe preferred, but US is also OK.

Please do not ask me for a budget. But feel free to post your recommendations.

Thanks.

Looking to rent Storage Servers

Looking to rent some dedicated storage servers with the following specs

- 4 servers
- 12-18 cores
- 64* or 128gb ram
- 80-100TB - SATA HDD/each + OS disks 250-500SSD
- 5 to 10gbps uplink unmetered
- Location [US] [EU] - [any State/City]

We would need an internal network connecting all these systems together @ 5-10gbps. Also, we would likely be looking to upgrade our external bandwidth over time.

[contract time] 2+ years / paid monthly

if anyone knows good providers please <<post here>>

Looking for dedicated servers in New York

I'm looking for a cheap dedicated server hosted in a New York datacenter. Fast CPU required and 16GB memory minimum. Also capable of accessing console via KVM IPMI or something like that to uploading my own ISO to install OS etc. SSD/NVE would be great but not mandatory.

Disk space 250GB enough and gigabit port recommended although monthly transfer will be very low.

Anyone can help and provide recommendations?
