Migrating clients websites from VPS to Dedicated server with no downtime

Hi,

I have 50+ Cpanel accounts on my VPS, I'm looking to migrate to a dedicated server from another provider,
I want to know if there's a way to migrate from the VPS to the new server with no downtime?
I have access to most of my client's domain names, also most of my clients are using Cloudflare (My account).
Can anyone advise me on what's the best approach here?

Thank you.

Fastest way to set up a domain on a dedicated server, using Cloudflare nameservers?

Hello, folks...

I'm looking to have a live website at some-domain.com, hosted on a dedicated server, while using CloudFlare nameservers. And I need to find the fastest way to do this from scratch.

I'm getting a bit confused with all the steps required. I also think I'm waiting unnecessarily for things to happen. This shouldn't be taking so long.

My current understanding of the process is this:

1) Register the domain with a domain registrar.

2) Login to my hosting account's cPanel and add the domain as an addon domain.

3) Add a DNS zone for the domain in my dedicated server's control panel (not cPanel).

4) Login to the domain registrar. Add custom nameservers to the domain, and point them to my server's nameservers.

5) Wait 2 days for the nameservers to propagate.

6) Login to CloudFlare, add a new site and let Cloudflare import the DNS zones.

7) Login to the domain registrar and change the nameservers of the domain to those Cloudflare gives me.

8) Wait 2-3 days for the nameservers to propagate.

9) Test the site.
Can you please help me streamline this process?

Thanks!

Hetzner is not appropriate for big and social network websites, as they said

Hey

I have a social network website with over 100 milion clients (not now but in about 4-5 months) ...
I want to buy a SX server from Hetzner so i asked them about the abuse terms ...

I got this response:

Dear client,

Thank you for your email.

If we receive an abuse report for a site hosted by you, we will forward the abuse report to you. The deadline to solve the problem is in most cases 24 hours.
If the problem is not be solved within the given time the IP address could be blocked by our side.

IF there will be a lot of abuse reports for one customer server or account, it could lead to a cancellation of the server.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Kind regards

for 100 million clients, we really can't check their contents uploaded to our server (files and ...) so we 100% will get tooooooo many abuse reports and from what support dep said:
IF there will be a lot of abuse reports for one customer server or account, it could lead to a cancellation of the server.

It shows that Hetzner is not Appropriate for social network or even big websites (as they said (IF there will be a lot of abuse reports for one customer server or account, it could lead to a cancellation of the server)) !!!

Question:
How some websites servers like discord located in germany, frankfort (i think it's hetzner !!!)) ?? and why they not get banned !!!!? is it because they hide their ip in cloudflare?
How even the abuse report works !!? how people submits abuse report ? and abuse report is for which contents?

Need HELP choosing Dedicated Server Specs

Hey everyone, I need help choosing a dedicated server from psychz.net

My needs:
I want to have 4-8 VM's running simultaneously (the amount depends on how strong each VM is)-
If 4 VM's, each VM will have 4 game clients running. If 8 VM's, each will have 2 game clients running.

For reference, in my computer I have i5-6600 and by running 3 game clients, each one takes around 30% CPU and 800 MB Ram
(also, I am able to run 2 game clients on a Azure VM (4 cores, 8 GB Ram) "Standard F4s_v2")

Budget: $200-$300 a month.

What do you recommend in terms of specs, and how should I split them for each VMs.
What about operating system? Perhaps VMWare ESXI or Windows Datacenter?

ANY HELP APPRICIATED!

Dual CPU vs Single CPU Dedicated Server

I have been searching for a new server to put CentOS 8 then cloudlinux on then move my websites and 4 clients over to it and I do not see a lot of Dual CPU servers.

Need Dedicated server with white label ip for reselling

Hay guys,
I am finding a affordable and reliable Dedicated server provider.
Mostly for reselling in local area.

No software related technical support is necessary.

Q1: what do i mean by white label IP?
ANS: The IP WHOIS should not the the name/link of the hosting provider. So that my clients can't reach the original source.

What makes a server fast? And what is best dedicated managed Cpanel server under 180$?

Not sure if this is the right category.. I want to know what makes a server speedy. My issue is, I tried about 6 servers the last 6 months.

Reseller Hostmantis (5$ a month)
VPS cloudcone 10 core 16 GB ram (50$) a month + cpanel (15$) + litespeed (30$) a month
VPS from a dutch guy, 8 core, 16GB ram, directadmin (70 a month)
Cloudcone VPS: 10 cores, 60GB ram, Cpanel + litespeed = like 70 a month).
Wpprovider (claims to have to fastest dutch hosting): 25,- a month.
Neostrada magento hosting (6 core, 8GB ram, cpanel = 20,- a month)

Believe it or not, but the freaking 5$ per month SHARED (!!!!) RESELLER (!!!!!) is the fastest of them all. And I really don't understand how that is possible. Is there anybody who can explain to me what makes a server fast? First I thought it was litespeed, so i bought a litespeed license for by VPS'ses. Then I thought it was the lack of RAM, so i went to Contabo with 60 freaking GB of ram WITH litespeed. And even that is slower if I 1:1 compare it with a 100% duplicated site on that Hostmantis reseller package...

Then a guy from Asia who tried to improve the pagespeed for a webshop copied the site to his dedicated server and the results were INSANELY fast. I asked him his config and he said:

2 X Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2650
32 Cores
64 GB ram
2 X SSD Drive

He said he didn't had Litespeed, only Memcache installed.

Is there anybody who can tell me what makes a server fast? Is it the RAM? the CPU? The managing? The location? The LITEspeed/Memcached/Redis? And when does it make sense to get a Dedicated server instead of a VPS?

About me: As side job I build websites. Most of them very easy, 3 page wordpress sites with no visitors. I host about 60. They don't really care about speed, cause they are happy if there are There are some bigger clients (3 with a woocommerce webshop, 1 with a magento webshop) for which speed IS important.

What I would like is
THE FASTEST Server possible for my amount
At least 500GB SSD storage
Managed
Backups remotely (and something like JEtbackup)
Softacalous
Cpanel + WHM (100 accounts)
Budget: Under like 180$ for all (if that is anyway possible).

Looking for a 'crawler friendly' dedicated server company

Hi there

We have created a crawler/spider which is intended to visit the homepage (only) of all the domain names that we can find - currently approx 250m of them. We are running into trouble because a lot of domain names don't resolve and our current dedicated server provider keeps sending us automated alerts regarding our activity - despite trying to talk to them about what we are doing, we keep receiving the same.

Our plan is when we find a domain that does not resolve that we put it on a list to only try it infrequently (maybe once a month) to see if it becomes "live". However we are not able to do even a full crawl without having a problem

So we have two things:

1) Can anyone recommend a company that is happy to have someone on their network doing this? We aren't overloading servers, are being 'polite' including looking at robots.txt and are only looking at the homepage.

2) If anyone has any suggestions for how we can reduce these issues, it would be welcome. This is the first time that we have created such a broad crawler and therefore anyone with knowledge like this would be really appreciated

Thanks

Dedicated Server or Bare Metal Server

What is the actual meaning of Dedicated servers ? ok the answer is a dedicated server is a type of web hosting in which a client has the exclusive use of an entire server. So that mean VPS also a dedicated server. We used that word a decade ago for Bare Metal Servers. I think we should correct the WHT category as Bare Metal Servers. This is just a suggestion. What do you think about that ?
